BAL Tiling is an independent company owned by Brad established in 1995. At BAL Tiling we provide a professional tiling service of the highest quality.

Based in the South East Of London this location allows us to serve clients across London, Kent and the South East of England.

We provide a complete tiling service for all applications and fully experienced in all aspects of internal and external tiling procedures, from preparation and fixing to cleaning and restoration.

BAL Tiling specialise in all types of tiling using different materials ranging from ceramics, glass, porcelain, natural stone (slate, limestone, travertine, granite and marble). Mosaics to large format, all fixing utilises the market leading adhesives and grouts available to suit the application.

Ceramic tile is manufactured from clay materials that are quarried, prepared, and then formed into a mold. Common forming methods for ceramic tile include dry press, extruded, and slush mold. The dry press forming method involves a mixture of dry material being pressed into a mold under extreme pressure. Extruded ceramic tile is formed when a mixture of slightly wet material is extruded into a mold. Slush mold is a forming method in which a mixture of very wet material is poured into a mold and then hardened in a kiln at an extremely high temperature.

NATURAL STONE

Natural stone tile is produced from natural materials that are quarried, slabbed, finished, and cut to size. Common types of stone used as flooring tile include granite, marble, limestone (including travertine), and slate. Among these types of natural stone are thousands of varieties with characteristics that depend on where and when the stone was quarried.

PORCELAIN

Porcelain tiles are  fired at a much higher temperature than traditional ceramic tiles making them much harder and more dense. Due its highly durable make-up, porcelain is more resistant to scratches and can withstand extremes of temperature. It is very stain resistant, has a very low water absorption rate and so can be used for interior and exterior applications. Porcelain tiles can be either glazed or unglazed. Unglazed porcelain tiles are usually polished to a high gloss shine but because they are not coated with a glaze, such tiles benefit from the application of a penetrating sealer to give it added stain resistance and to aid cleaning.

MOSAIC

Mosaic tiles are small pieces of tile usually supplied on a mesh backing or sometimes paper faced. Originally they were used to create intricate designs or pictures. In addition to the example shown here, mosaics can be obtained in many shapes and sizes and also as feature borders in various designs. They can be made from all types of material including ceramic, glass and natural stone.
